This masterpiece, the origin and pinnacle of all science fiction films set in the year 2026, is now being reborn 100 years later in a project called "METROPOLIS BEYOND."
Cam Lasky meticulously studied every existing version of the film and all available historical materials. He carefully unraveled the story and world that Fritz Lang originally envisioned. Using techniques from dance music production—re-editing, remixing, and re-treatment—he simultaneously rebooted the visuals and composed a powerful new techno score.
At its 1927 premiere, the film was screened only once accompanied by a live orchestra. A century later, synchronizing the film with a live techno performance for global streaming is a historic first—a perfect fusion of cutting-edge technology and nostalgic reverence for the 100th anniversary.
